Methodological Note

Spirit ID Framework

What this is

Spirit ID is a methodological framework designed to examine whether the source of apparent communication can be identified under conditions that allow independent verification.

What this is not

This framework does not extend or represent traditional physical mediumship. It does not treat phenomena, experiences, or perceived interaction as evidence of communication in themselves.

Core Principle

The central requirement of Spirit ID is identity through verification.

  • Information must be specific and unambiguous
  • Information must be unknown at the time it is received
  • Verification must occur independently of the original context

Role of Phenomena

Phenomena are treated as observational data only. They may display structure, responsiveness, or interaction-like features, but do not provide evidence of origin without independent criteria for identification.

Process

The framework separates three phases:

  • Observation
  • Recording
  • Verification

Verification is deferred and occurs through external sources such as documented findings, official records, or independent third-party processes.

Why this matters

The question is not whether phenomena occur, but whether their source can be identified under conditions that allow independent evaluation.

Without verifiable identity, interpretation remains provisional.
